We are going to present a series of newsletters on the Chakra Energy System This month we’ll start with an overview of the entire system. In the proceeding months we will consider each major Chakra, one at a time, til we travel through all seven. You get the idea. |
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disk-like spinning vortex of energy. The Chakra System is an energy matrix that supports physical, mental, emotional and spiritual life. Because of this, it is an extremely holistic concept, one that encompasses body, mind and spirit. The Chakras reflect various aspects of consciousness. All action and understanding arise from and return to points within ourselves as core centers. |

There are seven Major Charkas or energy centers that are located on the midline of our body and are all connected. Each chakra manifests on a physical level and is associated with an endocrine gland and parts of the physical body located near it. If the subtle energy or the protective “Bubble” around us is disturbed, then that region of the body could manifest on a physical level as pain or a disease if we don’t fix it in time. |
Chakras are also associated with emotions, spiritual states, psychological functions and particular human issues or situations.
For these reasons, from a health standpoint, we heal not only physically, but spiritually and emotionally as well. In fact, true healing does not occur without addressing body, mind and spirit—the core of holism.

Chakra Connection Meditation: To connect and “reopen” our seven Major Chakras we need to mentally “see” them and use our breath to direct the energy. Check out the top left picture to see their location and color. (Chakras are numbered from the bottom up, one through seven, and follow the colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet turning to white) starting from red (1st) up to violet or the white light on the crown. (7th). Take deep breaths and with each exhale, visualize a stream of luminous gold going up your center. Pause at each Chakra and create a ball of colored, radiating light in the color of that Chakra. Then connect to the next one with the golden thread. If you cannot hold the color or the thread, go back until you get it. Once at the crown, picture all 7 balls of color connected by the golden thread. Your Chakras are now open. You are balanced. If we get “out of sorts”, so do our
Chakras. This may need to repeated
daily or more often.
