"CROWN -- AJNA" (COMMAND CENTER)

7th Chakra

NUMBER SEVEN: CROWN CHAKRA Sahasrara

The Sanskrit name for the 7th chakra is "Sahasrara", meaning "thousandfold." The 7th chakra is represented by a 1000-petaled lotus, which symbolizes the infinite nature of this chakra, connecting us with the Divine.

Physical Location: Crown of head
Color: Violet, also white and gold.
Gland: Pineal
Physical Body Parts: Cerebral cortex, brain and the whole body. It connects everything.
Physical Dysfunctions: None.  Perfection.  This Chakra is the entry point for the human life force which nourishes body, mind and spirit.  This is the purest form of energy or grace—prana (in Sanskrit).
Primary Strengths: Faith in the presence of the Divine and all it represents—such as inner guidance, insight into healing and total trust that overcomes all fears.
Primary Fears: Fears relating to spiritual issues such as fear of spiritual abandonment, loss of identity and loss of connection with life and people around us.  Alienation.  Absence of meaning and purpose in life.
Function: Union
Inner state:  Bliss

Mantra:  I KNOW.  “I merge with the Unity of All Life.  I act in alignment with my Higher Spiritual Nature.”
Sacred Truth: To live in the present moment, release fears of the physical world and seek a connection with the Divine.  To seek personal spiritual development.

SEVENTH CHAKRA ACTIVITY

Calm Down First and Open Your Chakras: A great way to settle yourself is with the 4-7-8 breathing that only takes a minute.  Inhale (thinking clean air) through your nose to a count of four, pause for seven, exhale (thinking stagnant air) to a count of eight.  Visualize energy radiating from your chest up and down your seven Chakras.  Repeat.

A SIMPLE BREATHING MEDITATION

Here is a  simple ten or fifteen minute breathing meditation that can help you to overcome stress and find inner peace and balance

The object is to stop distractions and make the mind clearer and more lucid.  This will allow all our Chakras to be open and let in the Divine.

1.     We choose a quiet place to meditate and sit in a comfortable position. We can sit in the traditional cross-legged posture or in any other position that is comfortable. If we wish, we can sit in a chair. The most important thing is to keep our back straight to prevent our mind from becoming sluggish or sleepy.

2.     We sit with eyes partially closed and turn our attention to our breathing. We breathe naturally, preferably through the nostrils, without attempting to control the breath, and we try to become aware of the sensation of the breath as it enters and leaves the nostrils.

3.     This sensation is our object of meditation. We should try to concentrate on it to the exclusion of everything else.
