Color: Sky Blue
Gland: Thyroid
Sense: Hearing
Element:The element for the 5th chakra is ether/space. It is connected to the cosmos, which consists of these elements.
Location: Throat
Physical Body Parts: Throat, lungs, thyroid, trachea, neck, esophagus, mouth, jaw, teeth.
Physical Condiitons: Sore throat, swollen glands, colds, thyroid and teeth problems, neck pain.
Consciousness: The challenge of the fifth chakra is to release our fear of communicating and interacting with the world. The natural feeling at the throat chakra is freely vibrating resonance.
Primary Strengths:Speaking our truth confidently and courageously. Faith, truth, self knowledge, and personal authority. The capacity to make decisions knowing that no matter what decision we make, we can keep our word to ourselves or to another person. Listening to our intuition, hearing what others are really saying.
Primary Fears:Fear of self expression. Fear of speaking one’s truth, or excessive shyness. If the chakra is too open, we are so busy expressing that we forget to listen. If it is too closed, we clam up.
Un-dealt with Issues: Difficulty communicating. Emotions caught in the throat.
Mantra: “I Speak. I now say what needs to be said. I value and express by creativity. My purpose is to serve others with my unique gift.”
SACRED TRUTH:The essence power is the 'word'. When we are able to release our fears, sense of powerlessness and pride, we are able to speak our truth confidently and courageously. When we touch our purity at the throat, we touch the power and hear the sound of silence. We can listen to others and to ourselves. We are heard. We know when to speak and when not to speak. What we say has an uncontested impact.

CHANT & SING TO BRING IN THE JOY OF THE SEASON
Chanting is an activity that increases the overall resonance of our being, allowing all our internal systems to enter into a rhythmic harmony. Each chakra has its own tone. By chanting the actual sound for that chakra, you will feel that particular chakra open.
Group Chanting: Enhances resonance and communication with the group as a whole. From Zen monasteries to rock concerts, this is a powerful tool for enhancing collective consciousness.
Personal Chanting: When practiced alone, it can open up all Chakras on an individual level and be a powerful meditation.
HOW TO: Take deep breaths and chant the sustained tone of the chakras one by one. As you chant, place your hand over each chakra and feel the vibration coming from that area of your body.
Chakra One: Ooo as in home
Chakra Two: Uuu as in rule
Chakra Three: Ahh as in father
Chakra Four: Ayy as in play
Chakra Five: Eee as in free
Chakra Six: Mmm as in hum
Chakra Seven: Ngg as in sing
